Risk Assessment- Miss Georgiou

Before filming it is important to consider risks which can prevent us from filming smoothly and successfully. By considering risks it will reduce the chance of something going wrong when filming. It will also lower the chances of harming the public which includes passers by and ourselves. By considering the risks we were able to discuss as a group how we can prevent any hazards when filming. By doing this will make filming time longer and more chance to focus on our filming rather then hazards which may occur. Furthermore by considering risks is important before we film so that we make sure that we understand what precautions to take when filming so that we don't harm ourselves and the public.

The risk assessment will assist us with filming as we have a great understanding of different risks that can occur during the filming process. As a result of knowing what risks can occur it will allow us to prevent risks from occurring when the filming takes place. Therefore due to our risk assessment our filming would not be affected as we would not have to spend any time making sure the environment is safe. Furthermore by knowing about the risks its less chance of our footage being unsuccessful as risks can make our footage poor quality.

When we were filming our music video we encountered a few more risks. When we were filming in London a risk we came across due to it being so busy were people knocking over our tri pod and camera as they rushed past. We overcame this by filming in more of a quieter location where there was less people. Another risk we encountered when we filmed our music video was filming in the dark in isolated places in London as we couldn't see our whereabouts and therefore got lost. However we came over this by walking around for a long time and the next day we filmed we made sure we took a torch so that we knew where we was.

By making a risk assessment assisted us in filming smoothly and quickly as we knew what we had to do to prevent to risks meaning that our filming was successful.

  1. This post demonstrates some understanding of what a risk assessment is. You have made a start in identifying potential risks and hazards, however, further analysis of how you will prevent the hazards is needed to demonstrate further planning.

Did you counter any more risks while filming?
