Audience feedback is also important when creating a music video as the group will understand the strengths and weaknesses of elements within our music video such as lighting, timings and the mise en scene. By having audience feedback allows us to improve our music video as we can see what the audience wants therefore making our music video more suited to audiences. Therefore audience feedback is important as we then know how to improve our music video so that it suits our target audience.
We received feedback through many different ways so that we could gain many different opinions so that we can improve our music video proficiently. The first way we received feedback was within our class. We have 2 groups within our class. We watched each others rough cuts and discussed as a group what their strengths and what their weaknesses was. The feedback we gave back included 3 strengths, 3 weaknesses, a score out of 40 which is their grade and why we have given them that score.
The feedback we received is very helpful in seeing what we need to do to improve our music video.
One positive feedback was that we had an effective time lapse. We were very happy with this comment as we took a long time trying to the time lapse. Also as our time lapse is successful the audience will now easily understand the narrative as the time lapse will cause the audience to see that our artists pace of life is slow whilst everyone else's is fast which will build empathy for the boy therefore building a relationship between the two. We was also happy that our time lapse was successful as this meant the visuals and the lyrics matched therefore our music video is easy and interesting to watch.

Another positive feedback we received was that mise en scene was conventional to the indie genre, we was happy with this comment as this shows us our target audience will enjoy our music video and can see straight away its an indie music video. We was also glad it was a positive comment as we tried hard to stick to indie conventions as best as we can such as wearing plain clothing and using a realistic setting. Therefore we know that our music video conforms to some indie genre conventions.

Another positive comment which we received was good camera angles we had within our music video. We was happy with this comment as it means that our music video is interesting as different angles makes it engaging therefore our target audience will be drawn in to our music video.
We also received constructive comments so that we know how we can improve our music video.
First constructive comment we received that was constructive was that some of our footage is too dark. I agree with this as at the beginning of our music video some of our footage is dark due to us filming quite late during the day. However we do not need to re film we can just lighten up the shots using an effect on Final cut.

Another constructive comment we received is that the lip syncing of the artist is slightly out of sink. I believe this is a fair comment as we were pushed for time and had to film quickly therefore we rushed some shots therefore our lip syncing was not as successful as it should of been. Furthermore to over come this we are going to re film the shots that aren't successful.
The last constructive comment we received was that the narrative wasn't clear. From receiving this comment we now understand that just because we understand the music video the audience wont as well therefore we need to make the narrative more clearer. We will do this by filming more shots of the dad arguing with the son to show why he is leaving.
By receiving feedback will help our group to make our music video more successful. Due to the comments we received we now know how to make our music video more successful and appeal better to our target audience. We will re film the shots that have poor lip syncing so that our music video looks more professional therefore appealing more to the audience and gaining more views, we will make our narrative more clear by adding more shots of the dad neglecting the son to show clearly why he's running away and finally we will brighten up some shots so that our music video is clearer.
This post demonstrates some understanding of why audience feedback is essential to receive. You have made a start in considering the strengths and constructive elements of your music video rough cut and you have started to reflect on the comments.
